Common Questions

Do I need to be 'good with computers' to start?
Not even slightly. Plenty of my students start from 'I can turn it on, mostly'. We start from wherever you are, and there's no such thing as a silly question — I mean that.
How much do lessons cost?
$80 per hour, or $60 per hour for pensioners and concession card holders. The first 15-minute phone chat is free, so you can tell me what you'd like to learn and see if I'm the right fit.
Is it a one-off lesson or a regular thing?
Whatever suits you. Some people book a single lesson to conquer one thing, like video calls. Others like a regular visit — once a fortnight or once a month — and keep a running list of things to work through. There's no lock-in either way.
Can you teach me ChatGPT?
Yes — and 'safely' is the important word. We'll set it up on your own phone or computer, try it on something real (a confusing letter is a good start), and I'll show you the two things that matter most: when it's confidently wrong, and what you should never type into it. The same goes for the others — Claude, Copilot on Windows, Gemini on Android phones, the blue Meta AI circle in WhatsApp — they all work the same way and the same rules apply. You'll leave with a one-page cheat sheet and, honestly, a bit of a head start on your kids.
