Arranging help for your Mum or Dad?

Often it's an adult son or daughter who calls me — sometimes from the other end of the country. I'm happy to arrange everything with you by phone, visit your parent at home in Newcastle, sort out the problem gently, and let you know how it went. Many families also book a visit as a birthday or Christmas present. The pensioner rate of $60 an hour applies.

Is it okay if I'm really starting from scratch?

Completely okay — that's what I'm here for. There is no level of experience that's 'too basic', and no question I haven't been asked before. We go at your pace, and I never make anyone feel silly. That's a promise.

Is there a pensioner rate?

Yes — $60 per hour for pensioners and concession card holders, instead of the standard $80. The first 15-minute phone call is free, and I'll always tell you what's involved before any work begins.

My kids set everything up but live far away. Can you be the local helper?

That's one of the most common calls I get. Your family can set things up remotely, and I'll be the friendly local who comes over when something needs hands-on attention. I'm happy to coordinate with your children by phone so everyone knows what was done.

Will you talk down to me?

Never. My whole business exists because too much tech support is rushed, jargon-filled, and leaves people feeling worse. I explain things in plain English, write down the important bits, and stay until you're comfortable — not just until it's fixed.
